EHS Compliance Engineer

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for the Blacksburg North site.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, corporate standards, permits, and reporting requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and report EHS data covering chemicals, noise, emissions, and waste.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
• Develop EHS policies, procedures, audit programs, and regulatory compliance training.
• Support emergency response, coordinate with regulators, and partner with site and corporate EHS teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; environmental science, safety, chemical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of manufacturing-related environmental, health, and safety experience.
• Experience managing hazardous waste and hazardous materials transportation.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, interpret EHS data, and prioritize findings.
• Experience writing site EHS programs, conducting gap assessments, and delivering regulatory compliance training.
• Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.
