Health Safety & Environmental Lead (HSE)

Location: Lancaster, New York, USA, with travel and support required at the Batavia, New York location

Salary: USD 60,000–75,000 yearly

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including permits, records, reporting, waste handling, and environmental controls.
• Lead internal and external audits, address non-conformances, and conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate HSE training for employees and contractors, manage contractor safety, and lead safety committee meetings.
• Track and report safety and sustainability metrics, manage emergency response planning and drills, and maintain emergency equipment.
• Support workers’ compensation cases, workplace injury records, hearing testing, HSE supplies, and visual safety signage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field.
• HSE certifications are required.
• 5–7 years of experience with health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs or teams.
• Strong communication, influence, coaching, project management, and workplace safety leadership skills.
