EHS Specialist (Manufacturing)

Location: San Francisco and Oakland are listed as the nearest major and secondary markets.

Salary: $71,822–$107,732 per year, plus a performance-related bonus plan.

What you will do

• Support commissioning and startup of new manufacturing facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate air, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous materials permitting with consultants, contractors, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
• Administer environmental permits, regulatory reporting, hazardous waste management, inspections, shipments, and disposal under RCRA.
• Participate in PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs, incident investigations, root cause analyses, audits, and corrective action tracking.
• Implement OSHA compliance programs, including lockout/tagout, confined space, respiratory protection, hazard communication, hot work, fall protection, PPE, and contractor safety.
• Develop EHS procedures and training, maintain metrics and compliance records, and support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational safety, chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, semiconductor, battery, pharmaceutical, specialty chemicals, or a similar regulated industry.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Strong organizational, project management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with environmental permitting, hazardous waste, process safety, contractor management, or startup and greenfield manufacturing projects is preferred.
