TL;DR
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer (Manufacturing): Managing plant EHS programs, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, and safety support for equipment and automation in a Greenville manufacturing site with an accent on OSHA, EPA, hazard controls, and emergency coordination. Focus on investigating workplace incidents, conducting root cause analyses, assessing high-hazard processes, and implementing corrective actions.

Location: Greenville, South Carolina, United States — on-site. Travel may include up to 10% domestic and international travel. Relocation may be authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $124,127–$151,710, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

  • Support EHS Cultural Excellence by promoting safety, health, environmental responsibility, and hazard reporting.
  • Own plant EHS programs and training, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Machine Guarding, and Site Emergency Coordination.
  • Interpret and implement Federal, State, and Local environmental permits, regulations, reporting, and compliance programs.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, perform root cause analyses, and define corrective actions.
  • Conduct assessments of high-hazard processes and provide technical guidance through safety committees and meetings.
  • Support the design and installation of new or modified equipment, industrial automation, and management-of-change processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of experience with local, state, and federal regulations, including Fire, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
  • At least five years of experience with EHS programs and procedures in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship is required.
  • Compliance with U.S. export-control requirements and assessment of U.S. person status may be required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or higher in science, engineering, or an EHS discipline.
  • Ten or more years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with hazard and risk assessments, EHS management systems, and manufacturing operations.
  • Professional certification such as QEP, CSP, or CIH.
