Software Engineering Manager (Bluetooth LE)

Location: Espoo, Finland

Annual base pay: €54,600–€101,400 EUR, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, mentor, hire, and develop a high-performing team of embedded software engineers.
• Own the execution and technical health of the Bluetooth LE Link Layer Software organization.
• Partner with the Link Layer Architect on software architecture, technical direction, and long-term technology strategy.
• Drive architecture, design, and code reviews while balancing feature delivery, modernization, technical debt, and quality.
• Coordinate priorities, dependencies, execution plans, risks, and delivery commitments across distributed cross-functional teams.
• Improve engineering effectiveness through continuous integration, automated testing, DORA metrics, tooling, and responsible AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading and managing software engineering teams delivering complex embedded products.
• Several years of hands-on embedded software development experience using C.
• Strong experience with resource-constrained, real-time embedded systems and embedded communication protocols or wireless software.
• Understanding of software architecture, software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, CI, automated testing, DevOps, and engineering automation.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD platforms, and globally distributed cross-functional organizations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, decision-making, and AI-assisted software engineering skills.

Nice to have

• Bluetooth LE Controller or Link Layer development experience and knowledge of the Bluetooth Core Specification.
• Experience in semiconductor or wireless connectivity, radio firmware, scheduling, timing-critical software, or PHY/MAC implementations.
• Knowledge of Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Wi-SUN, Z-Wave, Zephyr, or FreeRTOS.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, silicon design, firmware, or hardware verification.
• Experience contributing to technical strategy, roadmaps, engineering metrics, and process improvement.
