Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) - NYC

Location: New York, NY, USA; local/regional candidates only

Salary: $112,000–$160,000 base pay annually, with potential bonuses, equity, and sales commissions.

What you will do

• Provide pre-sales technical systems engineering support for enterprise and financial services customers in the NYC Metro area.
• Present data center, campus, Wi-Fi, CloudVision, security, endpoint security, and real-time fabric monitoring solutions.
• Conduct network architecture reviews, identify customer pain points, and recommend improvement plans and integrated solutions.
• Architect, design, and propose data center and campus networks using recommended design practices.
• Lead proof-of-concept testing, including functional and failure testing, and support network outage escalations.
• Collaborate with account managers, TAC, Product Management, Software Development, and customers on proposals, RFPs/RFQs, product feedback, and technical content.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking design and implementation experience focused on data center, campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
• Expert knowledge of routing and switching, including Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EVPN, VxLAN, multicast, and QoS.
• Recent experience designing leaf-spine architectures and using industry-standard CLI tools.
• Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer is preferred.
• Must be local to the NYC area or a local/regional candidate.

Nice to have

• Network industry certifications such as ACE L5/7, CCIE, or JNCIE.
• Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization.
• Experience building network automation with Python and Ansible.
• Knowledge of competitive Cisco, Juniper, and HP solutions.
• Ability to write technical white papers.
