Senior Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales (Mid West) (Networking)

Location: Remote, United States; candidates should reside in the Chicago, Illinois region. Approximately 25% regional travel is required.

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 annual base salary plus commission target, depending on qualifications, experience, and work location.

What you will do

• Lead the technical side of enterprise deals from initial customer conversations through proof of concept and close.
• Present and demonstrate the hirify.global platform to technical decision-makers, including engineers, network architects, infrastructure directors, and CIOs.
• Partner with Account Managers to understand customer requirements, address technical requests, and respond to RFPs and RFIs.
• Scope, run, and win end-to-end Proofs of Concept.
• Help customers design and deploy network architectures using best practices.
• Provide customer-driven feedback to Product Management and track feature requests through implementation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of customer-facing pre-sales engineering experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Solutions Architect.
• Strong networking fundamentals with deep expertise in BGP, OSPF, static routing, route policies, redistribution, filtering, and traffic engineering.
• Experience with network virtualization, software-defined networking, VRFs, multi-tenant architectures, SD-WAN, and overlay protocols such as GRE, VXLAN, and GENEVE.
• Hands-on experience with IPsec VPNs, encryption, NAT, secure connectivity, cloud on-ramps, and enterprise hybrid or multi-cloud networking.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale data center and WAN networks, plus knowledge of DNS, DHCP, load balancing, and traffic inspection.
• Ability to troubleshoot routing, security, and cloud issues live with customers and communicate clearly in written and verbal presentations.

Nice to have

• Cloud networking experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including VPCs/VNets, Transit Gateway, Virtual WAN, Cloud Router, peering, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute.
• Network security expertise with firewalls, policy design, service insertion or chaining, and Zero Trust principles.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer, or PCNSE.
• Familiarity with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code for network automation.
• Technical degree and a strong interest in sales and long-term customer relationships.
