CMP Equipment Engineer

What you will do

• Monitor, maintain, and improve CMP equipment performance, reliability, uptime, and tool availability in a high-volume wafer fabrication environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, coordinate recovery actions, and perform root cause analysis on recurring issues.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Support equipment qualifications, installations, upgrades, technology transfers, and production tool releases.
• Analyze equipment and process data to improve yield, defects, productivity, throughput, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, equipment vendors, and cross-functional problem-solving teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience, preferably in equipment engineering.
• Experience supporting CMP equipment in a wafer fabrication environment and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom operations.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven problem-solving techniques.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Applied Materials Mirra or Mirra Messa, Screen DNS AS2000, Ontrak Scrubber Systems, or NovaScan System 2040.
• Experience with JMP, Spotfire, Python, MATLAB, SQL, or VBA.
• Experience with 8D, DMAIC, 5-Why analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM.
• Experience supporting 200mm platforms, process improvement, defect reduction, or yield enhancement projects.
