Compensation: $220,000 – $280,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own the pilot battery pack assembly line end-to-end, from architecture through production readiness.
• Define assembly processes including cell sorting, joining (laser/ultrasonic/resistance welding), and potting.
• Develop fixturing, tooling, and work instructions designed for eventual automation.
• Ensure battery safety, including thermal runaway mitigation and compliance with standards like UN 38.3.
• Establish electrical test, formation, and characterization processes.
• Lead and grow a small team of specialists, setting technical direction and owning final decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in battery pack or energy-storage engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) per ITAR.
• Deep knowledge of cell-to-pack design, assembly, and thermal management.
• Experience standing up or significantly improving a battery assembly or pilot line.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, UAS, eVTOL, or EV industries.
• Background in automating battery assembly for high-rate production.
• Familiarity with defense qualification or airworthiness requirements.
