Supply Reliability Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: 100% onsite at hirify.global's headquarters in El Segundo, California, United States. Extended hours and weekends may be required.

Salary: $100.5K–$142.8K annually, plus equity.

hirify.global is an El Segundo-based advanced energy company building mass-produced, transportable nuclear microreactors, including the 1 MW Kaleidos reactor for critical infrastructure and commercial applications.

What you will do

• Own supplier qualification and onboarding, including pre-assessments, capability reviews, audits, and approval to the Approved Supplier List.
• Develop and maintain quality clauses, commodity-specific requirements, and the Supplier Quality Manual.
• Create supplier capability improvement plans, close process gaps, and track milestones.
• Define procurement assurance and acceptance requirements covering purchase orders, certifications, material traceability, and compliance documentation.
• Audit suppliers, manage findings and performance, and drive structured improvement plans.
• Partner with design engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams; process deviations, non-conformances, corrective actions, root-cause analyses, and effectiveness verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on supplier quality, supplier development, or supplier reliability engineering experience in a regulated industry, such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, or medical devices.
• Ability to independently process supplier quality transactions, including deviation requests, non-conformance reports, supplier corrective action requests, purchase order quality reviews, and certification package reviews.
• Experience owning or drafting quality program documents, including quality clauses, supplier requirements, and inspection instructions.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent quality management systems, including supplier auditing and corrective action management.
• Full ownership, first-principles problem solving, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high quality standards in a safety-critical, auditable environment.
• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
• Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo headquarters.

Nice to have

• Nuclear industry experience or familiarity with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ASME BPVC Section III, or ASME BPVC Section VIII.
• Manufacturing process depth in machining, welding, casting, forming, special processes, or precision fabrication sufficient to audit process controls and identify gaps.
• NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification or documented progress toward certification.
• Qualified Inspector status under ASME Section III or progress toward qualification.
• Exposure to ISO 17025-accredited laboratories or third-party inspection bodies.
• Experience in an early-stage company or program where processes were built or advanced.
