What you will do

• Scale up electrodes and execute experiments in multilayer pouch full cells to validate performance and safety.
• Manage the transition of prototype technology to mass production in collaboration with contract manufacturing partners.
• Drive failure analysis in prototype and mass production cells to identify root causes.
• Apply statistical methods and modeling to interpret test results and inform design iterations.
• Bridge technical alignment between internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Develop new test methods to detect downstream challenges early in the development cycle.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Alameda, CA.
• B.S. in engineering or science with 7+ years of experience in batteries or a related field.
• Strong technical background in lithium-ion batteries, including slurry, coating, and cell design.
• Experience in pilot-scale electrode scale-up and familiarity with failure mechanisms.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as JMP and Python.
• Ability to plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in engineering or science.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese.
• Experience with different cell form factors.
