TL;DR
Head of Competitive Intelligence (AI): Building and leading a world-class competitive intelligence function to inform product strategy and executive decision-making with an accent on market analysis, objection handling, and strategic frameworks. Focus on synthesizing complex market signals into actionable insights that drive product roadmap, pricing, and GTM motions.
Location: Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco or New York City
Compensation: $347,000 – $385,000 + Equity

What you will do
- Build and own the company's competitive intelligence strategy and operating model from the ground up.
- Develop comprehensive competitive assessments, including feature matrices, pricing analyses, and market landscape reviews.
- Create executive-ready insights that influence product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and investment decisions.
- Establish repeatable processes for collecting, validating, and distributing competitive intelligence across the organization.
- Partner with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to sharpen positioning, messaging, and objection handling.
- Support executive leadership with board-ready competitive analyses and market briefings.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, or product strategy.
- Proven track record of building a competitive intelligence function from scratch.
- Strong understanding of enterprise software, AI platforms, SaaS, or cloud technologies.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to distill complex markets into clear frameworks.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and capable of working from San Francisco or New York City.
Nice to have
- Experience in AI, machine learning, foundation models, or developer platforms.
- Background in management consulting or strategic planning.
- Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies, win/loss programs, and competitive positioning frameworks.
- Experience supporting enterprise sales organizations with battlecards and competitive enablement.
