What you will do

• Investigate the roles of active materials, binders, and conductive additives on Li-ion battery performance.
• Lead the design, qualification, and scale-up of novel electrodes for commercial applications.
• Apply statistical methods and modeling to interpret test results and inform design iterations.
• Accelerate learning cycles by developing new techniques to detect downstream challenges early.
• Communicate technical plans and results to internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Identify safety hazards and implement improvements in laboratory and production processes.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Alameda, CA.
• B.S. in engineering or science with 4+ years of experience in batteries or a related field.
• Strong technical background in lithium-ion batteries, including slurry, coating, and cell design.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as JMP and Python.
• Ability to plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of lab safety best practices and ability to wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in slurry and coating formulation and characterization.
• Fluency in Japanese or Korean.
