What you will do

• Develop and execute comprehensive experiments in pouch full cells, including slurry, coating, and electrolyte optimization.
• Perform thorough failure analysis in prototype cells to identify root causes.
• Apply statistical methods and modeling techniques to interpret test results and inform design iterations.
• Communicate technical plans and results to internal stakeholders and support customer-facing data packages.
• Develop new techniques or test methods to detect downstream challenges early in development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers to meet program objectives.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Alameda, CA.
• Strong technical background with lithium-ion batteries, including slurry, coating, and cell tear down.
• At least a B.S. in engineering or science and 4+ years of experience in batteries or a related field.
• Proficiency in databases and data analysis tools such as JMP or Python.
• Ability to plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of lab safety best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with form factors other than pouch cells.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese.
