Sr. Staff Architect – Software Architecture (AWS/Java)

Base salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide strategic technical leadership and architecture guidance across IT and business teams.
• Define and drive adoption of cloud-native, API-first, microservices, and distributed-systems architecture principles.
• Establish enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, and reusable design patterns for Java-based systems.
• Lead solution design for scalable applications, including service decomposition, API contracts, and integration patterns.
• Architect AWS-based platforms aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles and govern API and event-driven ecosystems.
• Improve engineering productivity, observability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence through frameworks, CI/CD enablement, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture, including enterprise-scale systems.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, microservices, distributed systems, and API design.
• Strong experience with Java-based development frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Experience with architecture standards, governance models, security, scalability, performance optimization, and stakeholder collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
• Exposure to AI-enabled architectures or enterprise AI integrations.
