Staff AI Architect (AWS)

Location: United States; hybrid work arrangement.

Salary: $115,747–$208,344 base pay annually, plus variable pay opportunity and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and evolve end-to-end AWS cloud-native architecture across compute, data, networking, security, and observability.
• Establish agentic AI patterns for multi-agent systems, tool orchestration, memory and retrieval, LLM routing, guardrails, and evaluation feedback loops.
• Govern DevOps and platform engineering standards, including CI/CD, GitOps, progressive delivery, environment parity, and release engineering.
• Design platform infrastructure with ECS, EKS, service mesh, API gateways, IAM/RBAC, secrets management, and multi-account, multi-region AWS topology.
• Lead architecture reviews, make technical decisions for high-risk changes, and define SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, observability, and incident response frameworks.
• Create ADRs, system diagrams, threat models, and runbooks; advise Product and Partners and mentor senior engineers.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years in software engineering and systems architecture, including 3+ years as an architect or principal engineer.
• 5+ years of AWS architecture experience at scale, including multi-account design, Control Tower, VPC, IAM governance, and cost optimization.
• Experience designing highly available distributed systems with low latency and elastic scalability, plus agentic AI architectures and operational monitoring.
• Expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform or CDK, Helm, GitOps, CI/CD, container security, API gateways, streaming systems, and data architecture.
• Experience establishing SRE practices, cloud security architecture, compliance frameworks, and architecture artifacts such as C4 diagrams, ADRs, and threat models.
