Senior Software Engineering Lead (Java)

Location: Southlake, Texas or Austin, Texas; onsite four days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: USD $150,000–$205,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead hands-on delivery of large, cross-cutting initiatives across bank lending platforms, including mortgages, securities-based lending, crypto-based lending, and alternative collateral capabilities.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient architectures for loan origination, servicing, and downstream integrations across SaaS providers, internal platforms, and systems of record.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical approaches while influencing roadmap scope, sequencing, and design tradeoffs.
• Establish engineering standards for code, integrations, testing, system design, reliability, and production readiness while mentoring engineers through influence.
• Guide implementation, review designs and code, resolve complex delivery issues, and support production triage and root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate and establish responsible AI-assisted development practices for productivity, solution design, testing, and software quality in a regulated banking environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years designing, developing, and delivering large-scale distributed software systems with deep hands-on experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• 8+ years working with cloud-native architectures, containerized microservices, service orchestration, and distributed integrations.
• 8+ years building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub, GitLab, Bamboo, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with automated testing, distributed and relational data stores, event-driven architectures, messaging systems, and authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth or SAML.
• Current US work authorization is required; employer sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Banking, move-money, credit risk, treasury, or regulated financial services experience.
• Experience with securities-based lending, margin lending, asset-backed credit, collateral valuation, or alternative investments.
• Experience with digital assets, crypto-related systems, distributed-ledger-adjacent technologies, or multiple systems of record.
• Experience applying AI-assisted development beyond code generation in regulated environments.
