What you will do
- Direct the development of hazard mitigation analyses and safe work procedures for high-voltage labs and manufacturing floors.
- Lead the field service safety program for technicians commissioning and servicing equipment at customer sites.
- Oversee EHS inspection programs, arc flash boundary compliance, and corrective action management.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, chemical inventory, and regulatory reporting under RCRA and California Title 22.
- Serve as the senior liaison with Cal/OSHA, fire authorities, and environmental agencies.
- Define and report EHS metrics to executive leadership to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
- 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, R&D, or energy technology.
- At least 2 years of experience in a people-management or team-lead role.
- Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8, 29 CFR 1910, NFPA 70E, and RCRA.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop EHS teams in a resource-constrained environment.
- Effective communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and external regulators.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting energy storage systems (BESS) or high-voltage power electronics.
- Familiarity with NFPA 855, IEC 62368-1, or UL 9540 standards.
- Professional certification such as CSP or CHMM.
- Knowledge of BAAQMD permitting and TRI reporting.
