TL;DR

Engagement and Stakeholder Manager (Education): Managing operational delivery of stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and co-creation activities across a UK-wide research programme and the Institute of Educational Technology with an accent on strategic coordination and digital communications. Focus on building effective relationships with senior academics and external partners, delivering complex events, and ensuring seamless operational execution.

Location: Must be based in the UK with a hybrid working pattern requiring regular attendance at the Milton Keynes office (expected 1 day per week).

Salary: £38,784 – £46,049 per annum.

What you will do

  • Manage stakeholder engagement across the UK social science ecosystem, including ESRC investments and research networks.
  • Lead the planning and operational delivery of stakeholder events, workshops, webinars, and networking activities.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with senior academics, professional services leaders, and external partners.
  • Coordinate communications and promotional activity across digital channels, social media, and external engagement platforms.
  • Prepare reports, briefing papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and improve engagement processes, digital presence, and operational delivery across multiple workstreams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, or communications within higher education or the public sector.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and academics.
  • Strong digital communications skills, including managing websites, newsletters, and social media.
  • Excellent project and operational management skills with the ability to handle competing deadlines.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to attend the Milton Keynes office as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience working within UKRI, ESRC, or other externally funded research programmes.
  • Understanding of the UK social science research and training landscape.
  • Experience in stakeholder mapping and participatory engagement approaches.
