IT Contractor (IT Systems and Asset Management)

Location: Topeka, Kansas 66612, United States; onsite work involving physical office inventory and hardware handling.

Salary: $58,200 per year

What you will do

• Audit active and inactive user accounts, folder permissions, software access, and system-level permissions.
• Support basic server administration and provide ad hoc help desk assistance during the project.
• Conduct a physical and digital inventory of workstations, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals.
• Reconcile IT asset records with Finance’s financial asset logs.
• Apply physical asset tags and update the tracking database.
• Record serial numbers, purchase dates, and user assignments accurately.

Requirements

• Previous experience in help desk or desktop support.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and basic server administration.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work around an office environment and lift up to 25 lbs while handling hardware.
• Strong communication skills for updates to the IT Manager and Finance Department.
