TL;DR
Network Operations Engineer (Cisco): Monitoring and maintaining a large-scale Cisco network environment through 24/7 real-time operations with an accent on proactive issue detection, incident response, and network stability. Focus on troubleshooting network events, coordinating with vendors and technical teams, using SecureCRT, and supporting automation with Ansible and AI technologies.
Location: Remote, work at home. Schedule: 2:00 PM–11:00 PM ET, Saturday–Wednesday or Sunday–Thursday, with weekend availability required. Training takes place during the first three weeks on Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM ET.
Pay rate: $65–$75 per hour, W2. Contract duration: 12 months with a possible extension.

What you will do
- Monitor a large-scale Cisco network environment in real time and proactively identify performance, availability, and health issues.
- Respond to network incidents, escalations, and high-priority events through rapid troubleshooting and issue mitigation.
- Use SecureCRT for monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic network operational activities.
- Collaborate with network vendors, internal teams, and technical resources to investigate and resolve network issues.
- Maintain network documentation and operational procedures while escalating complex issues appropriately.
- Support automation and process improvements using Ansible, scripting, and emerging technologies including AI.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network operations and a Cisco network environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologies and SecureCRT.
- Experience in a Network Operations Center or similar 24/7 network monitoring environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, rapid-response, prioritization, and independent working skills.
- Experience collaborating with network vendors and multiple internal technical teams.
- Availability for Saturday–Wednesday or Sunday–Thursday shifts from 2:00 PM–11:00 PM ET, including weekends.
Nice to have
- Experience with Riverbed, SolarWinds, or Splunk.
- CCNA certification.
- Basic Ansible, scripting, or automation experience.
- Experience applying AI or automation technologies to network operations.
