TL;DR

Claims Handler (Legal Expenses): Managing a caseload of ATE legal expenses claims related to personal injury, clinical negligence, and professional negligence with an accent on policy interpretation, evidence gathering, and disbursement authorization. Focus on maintaining high service standards and building professional relationships with solicitors through predominantly email-based communication.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Croydon, UK (Hybrid: 3 days in office).

What you will do

  • Assess legal expenses insurance claims against policy terms and conditions.
  • Investigate claim validity and gather necessary evidence.
  • Review and authorize payments for medical reports, expert reports, and legal disbursements.
  • Calculate settlement values and maintain accurate claims records.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with solicitors and legal experts.
  • Ensure all service standards and SLA requirements are consistently met.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work from the Croydon office 3 days per week.
  • Previous experience in claims handling, legal case management, or litigation.
  • Strong background in insurance, legal services, or paralegal work.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex policy wording and analyze information effectively.
  • Commitment to a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, or Professional Negligence claims.
  • Prior experience specifically within Legal Expenses Insurance.
