Manager I, Engineering - Code Coverage (AI)

Datadog develops monitoring and security products for engineering teams, including the Software Delivery suite and Code Coverage product.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of four engineers in Madrid through mentorship, regular 1:1s, and performance feedback.
• Set technical direction for the Code Coverage product and guide its evolution into an AI-powered system using production data and LLMs.
• Partner with product management and customers to define the roadmap and translate strategy into clear priorities.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions while remaining close to the code.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and drive execution in an ambiguous, evolving environment.

Requirements

• Experience leading an engineering team as a tech lead or manager and developing engineers at different levels.
• Hands-on experience with Java or Go and large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong interest in AI, LLMs, agentic engineering, and autonomous systems for developer workflows.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to collaborate with product managers, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Willingness to stay hands-on and participate in on-call rotations.
