Sr. Software Engineer, Vendor Semantics and Developer Experience

What you will do

• Own the Vendor Schema Registry: ingest, parse, and version vendor API specifications (OpenAPI, Swagger, Smithy), track schema evolution, and keep the canonical ontological model synchronized.
• Build a semantic validation pipeline with correctness as the SLO: validate new/updated schemas against the canonical ontology and catch mapping gaps, type conflicts, and semantic regressions.
• Build developer experience tooling: internal SDKs, scaffolding, and documentation so product and ingest teams can work confidently against the knowledge platform.
• Close the loop between schema and graph by translating vendor constraints and edge cases into actionable inputs for the canonical model.
• Raise the floor for downstream teams with documentation, tooling, and validation guardrails that enable fast iteration without deep semantic-system knowledge.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background building systems that parse, validate, and transform structured specifications/schemas at scale.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, and/or Python; comfort in polyglot environments.
• Deep experience with API specification formats (OpenAPI/Swagger, Smithy, JSON Schema or similar), including parsing, diffing, and reasoning about schema evolution.
• Practical understanding of graph data models and downstream impact of upstream schema decisions.
• Developer experience mindset: built internal tooling/SDKs/frameworks used by other engineers and measured success by productivity.
• Correctness-first engineering mindset focused on invariants and edge cases, including handling vendors that silently change behavior.

Nice to have

• Experience tracking and diffing API specification changes over time (schema registries, changelog automation, breaking-change detection).
• Familiarity with semantic web/ontology technologies (RDF, SHACL, OWL, SPARQL) or ontology engineering toolchains.
• Background in infrastructure, cloud platform engineering, or security tooling.
• Experience with declarative configuration systems or code generation pipelines.
• Track record of making complex internal systems more approachable for entire teams.
