What you will do
- Collaborate with applications engineers to design custom automated manufacturing equipment and improve Design for Manufacturability.
- Develop mechanical designs for robotic end-of-arm tooling, material handling systems, fixtures, and machine frames using 3D CAD.
- Apply engineering first principles to analyze system behavior, evaluate design trade-offs, and develop sound mechanical solutions.
- Integrate mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic components into unified production systems.
- Support equipment commissioning, installation, and production ramp-up while resolving mechanical issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including BOMs, drawings, and assembly procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the design, assembly, or commissioning of custom automated tooling or manufacturing equipment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CREO or SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of control systems, robotics, and automated industrial processes.
- Demonstrated ability to create, interpret, and review mechanical drawings and engineering documentation.
Nice to have
- Advanced CREO parametric modeling skills including top-down design.
- Experience with ANSYS or similar simulation software for structural analysis and FEA.
- Familiarity with PLC, robot, and CNC programming.
- Demonstrated history of delivering custom automation projects from concept through production.
