What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve deployed bench-scale robotics and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose failures across pneumatic, electromechanical, and optical subsystems.
• Design replacement parts, retrofits, and fixtures using SolidWorks CAD.
• Perform structured root cause analysis using methods like 5 Whys and fishbone diagrams.
• Manage engineering changes through ECO/ECM and PDM/PLM systems.
• Track reliability metrics such as uptime, MTBF, and MTTR to guide improvement priorities.

Requirements

• Must be based in Cambridge, MA, USA
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
• Strong SolidWorks CAD skills, including practical experience with GD&T and DFMA.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems under operational pressure.
• Working knowledge of RCA, FMEA, CAPA, or related reliability methods.
• Experience with requirement management or product lifecycle management systems.
