What you will do
- Lead end-to-end specialist investigations into high-complexity conduct matters, including executive misconduct and high-stakes whistleblowing.
- Analyze complex and conflicting evidence to produce objective, well-reasoned findings and high-quality investigation reports.
- Partner with HR, Legal, Risk, and executive leadership to resolve high-stakes organizational risks and maintain regulatory standards.
- Ensure all investigation processes comply with UK employment law, ACAS codes, and SYSC18 whistleblowing obligations.
- Identify opportunities to improve investigation practices and coach other investigators to build overall team capability.
Requirements
- Must be based in the UK (London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax, or Leeds).
- Proven experience leading complex, sensitive, or high-risk internal investigations end-to-end.
- Strong professional knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS Code, and SYSC18 whistleblowing obligations.
- Exceptional written communication skills for producing defensible reports for executive-level audiences.
- High standards of integrity and professional courage to challenge senior leadership when required.
Nice to have
- Experience handling board-sensitive, criminal, or internationally complex investigations.
- Experience acting as a point of contact for external legal advisers or third-party investigation support.
- Background working in regulated financial services or other complex corporate environments.
- Experience mentoring or upskilling other investigators in evidence analysis and report writing.
