What you will do

• Design and harden on-device security systems including permissions, access control, and secure IPC.
• Develop security and privacy controls for on-device AI features, ensuring model integrity and sensitive data handling.
• Implement security features across Snap OS, firmware, applications, and system services.
• Improve fuzzing infrastructure and automated security testing pipelines for OS components and drivers.
• Perform threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and secure code reviews for embedded systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing production software in C, C++, or Rust.
• 3+ years of experience building security, privacy, or platform protection features for Linux-based, embedded, or wearable systems.
• Strong knowledge of applied cryptography, authentication, authorization, and platform hardening techniques.
• Ability to perform security analysis, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessment across OS and firmware boundaries.
• Must be able to work in the San Diego office 4+ days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in a related technical discipline.
• Experience building on-device permission systems, sandboxing, or least-privilege architectures.
• Experience securing on-device AI/ML systems, including inference-time privacy and local policy enforcement.
• Familiarity with trusted execution technologies, secure manufacturing, and device provisioning.
