Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Fintech)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global Vietnam office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Payments Core platforms, backend systems, and data pipelines.
• Build reliable software that meets functional, performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and operations to define and deliver features.
• Contribute to architecture, technical documentation, code reviews, troubleshooting, and long-term system improvements.
• Improve observability, system reliability, availability, and operational excellence; participate in mandatory on-call rotations.
• Provide DevOps support, use Generative AI tools to improve productivity, and mentor junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant software development experience and proficiency in Golang, Java, or another major programming language; Golang is preferred.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle edge cases and unhappy paths.
• Experience with distributed systems, DBMS, caching, NoSQL databases, RESTful and gRPC application servers, and data consistency.
• Hands-on experience with microservices, cloud platforms such as AWS, DevOps, clean architecture, SOLID principles, testing, observability, security, data governance, SLAs, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills are required.
