Engineering Manager (AI Engineering)

What you will do

• Manage a distributed team of frontend, backend, and AI engineers to deliver Duo Chat roadmap commitments.
• Partner with product and UX teams to define requirements and improve AI answer quality.
• Participate in technical architecture and development for AI agent systems at scale.
• Guide day-to-day execution, track milestones, and remove blockers for the team.
• Coach engineers through feedback and development conversations to foster growth.
• Improve testing, observability, and performance practices for AI-powered workflows.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams in a distributed environment.
• Strong software engineering foundation with the ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs.
• Hands-on familiarity with agentic AI or generative AI applied to software development.
• Ability to work effectively through ambiguity and fast-moving product development.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional stakeholders.
• Comfort balancing people management with technical involvement in daily development.
