Principal Product Designer (AI/SaaS)

Location: Remote in the United States or Ontario, Canada

Salary: $135,256–$169,070 USD annually; additional bonus or commission may apply.

What you will do

• Define the long-term UX vision and design strategy for a major product pillar.
• Own the end-to-end design lifecycle for ambiguous and technically challenging product areas.
• Influence product, engineering, data science, and executive stakeholders across multiple teams.
• Lead contributions to the design system by developing foundational patterns and design principles.
• Partner with research and data teams to turn quantitative and qualitative insights into design hypotheses and measurable outcomes.
• On the management track, hire, mentor, coach, and provide strategic oversight for senior and staff-level designers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in product design, UX design, or interaction design.
• Proven success launching complex products with significant business results and defining strategy across a product vertical or platform.
• Outstanding portfolio demonstrating systemic thinking, data-informed strategy, and executive communication.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, technical constraints, and front-end frameworks.
• Experience designing integrated SaaS workflow tools and platforms for business and consumer users, including subscription conversion, adoption, and retention.
• Manager-track candidates need 3+ years of experience managing and developing designers, particularly senior talent.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with generative AI tools and processes for rapid concept and design iteration.
• Experience using AI-driven analysis of customer feedback, research data, and usage patterns.
