Software Engineering Manager (Autonomy Services)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Salary: $147,760–$240,110 per year.

What you will do

• Lead multiple engineering teams delivering autonomy execution services, mission automation, and remote-control capabilities.
• Build physical AI mission automation, execution and control services, command validation, state transitions, safety integration points, and machine or gateway integration services.
• Define the vision for scalable and secure platform services and APIs that improve reuse and developer productivity.
• Drive platform service and API design with future use cases and evolving requirements in mind.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, security, and business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with enterprise strategy and customer needs.
• Improve organizational efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence across critical control platforms.

Requirements

• Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of reusable platform services, shared APIs, common frameworks, and foundational services.
• Expertise designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native distributed systems, platform services, and APIs.
• Experience driving quality, performance, reliability, security, automation, risk management, and production readiness.
• Strong background in cloud-native services, APIs, automation, observability, and production readiness.
• Experience leading complex initiatives across an organization of 20+ software engineers.

Nice to have

• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or automated agent workflows for code generation, boilerplate reduction, and automated testing.
