Senior Manager, AI Engineering (Agent OS Platform)

Location: Remote in the United States and Canada; significant Pacific Time overlap is preferred.

Salary: $239,300–$358,900 USD annually for eligible US locations, depending on compensation zone. Additional annual bonus, equity, and benefits are included.

What you will do

• Lead a hands-on AI platform engineering team through architecture, implementation, production launch, and iteration.
• Build shared Agent OS foundations for runtime execution, workflows, context, memory, capabilities, actions, trust, evaluation, and observability.
• Define platform contracts for tools, permissions, approvals, evidence, memory, role shells, and governed capabilities.
• Drive production evaluation through scenario design, regression suites, simulation, trace review, quality gates, and monitoring.
• Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, Security, Data Platform, Atlas, and domain engineering teams.
• Hire, coach, and retain engineers while remaining involved in design reviews, debugging, implementation decisions, and production behavior.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading engineering teams or major technical initiatives.
• Strong builder background with experience reviewing designs and code, reasoning about distributed systems, and debugging production behavior.
• Production experience with AI, ML, data, platform, infrastructure, workflow, automation, or developer-platform systems.
• Practical knowledge of LLM application architecture, including retrieval, tool calling, structured outputs, memory, model gateways, and agent workflows.
• Experience with APIs, distributed and event-driven systems, data platforms, observability, reliability, security, SQL, vector search, and multi-tenant SaaS constraints.
• Ability to turn ambiguous strategy into sequenced roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and clear ownership.

Nice to have

• Experience with agent runtimes, workflow engines, evaluation platforms, model gateways, ML platforms, developer platforms, or internal control planes.
• Experience with approval-gated automation, compliance-sensitive workflows, policy engines, audit trails, or governed writes to systems of record.
• Background in SaaS, vertical software, field service, fintech, ERP, CRM, marketplaces, or operations-focused products.
