What you will do

• Own and lead the company’s technical accounting function, researching, documenting, and operationalizing accounting positions for complex transactions (e.g., ASC 606, stock-based compensation, debt/equity, M&A).
• Prepare and review SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and S-1) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Drive IPO readiness by partnering cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, HR, and other teams to execute financial reporting milestones.
• Act as a hands-on operator by drafting technical memos, reporting schedules, and key disclosures, especially in the near term.
• Own financial reporting including lender reporting, and interface directly with external auditors on technical accounting matters and disclosures.
• Support SOX readiness and scale processes, controls, and internal policies as the company matures and new accounting standards are adopted.

Requirements

• CPA required; strong foundational training with Big 4 public accounting experience on public companies highly preferred.
• 8+ years of total accounting experience with increasing responsibility, including SEC reporting experience at a public company.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP (including ASC 606), SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• IPO experience preferred (either taking a company public or supporting clients through the process).
• “Player-coach” mindset: comfortable leading strategy and doing the work in a lean, fast-moving environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, communicate complex accounting issues to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and lead/develop teams.
