TL;DR
Data Analytics Engineer: Designing and deploying reports, dashboards, and data visualizations with an accent on SQL query optimization and dimensional modeling. Focus on collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications within Oracle, Databricks, and AWS environments.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Ashburn, VA (Hybrid). Must possess DoD Top Secret, DHS EOD, CBP Full BI, or IT-I security clearance or have a current SSBI. U.S. Citizenship is required.

What you will do
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to support dimensional models and star/snowflake schemas.
- Write and maintain SQL queries in Oracle and Databricks environments.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications.
- Monitor and improve report performance to ensure a reliable user experience.
- Support the management of reporting assets, including documentation and version control.
Requirements
- Must possess DoD Top Secret, DHS EOD, CBP Full BI, or IT-I security clearance or have a current SSBI.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- 1-5 years of hands-on experience with SQL programming.
- 1-5 years of experience with at least one major BI platform (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Conceptual understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
Nice to have
- Experience with Databricks (notebooks, SQL Warehouses).
- Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem (S3, IAM, Redshift, Glue).
- AWS Certification (Data Analytics or Solutions Architect).
- Proficiency in Python (Pandas, Pyspark) for data manipulation.
