Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Stuarts Draft, Virginia, United States; onsite at the manufacturing facility

Salary: $88,000–$120,000 per year, depending on education and experience

What you will do

• Partner with the Stuarts Draft plant leadership and operations teams by providing data-driven financial insights.
• Track actual performance against plans, forecasts, and standards; analyze spending and headcount trends and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly closing entries, financial statements, analytics, annual plans, and interim projections.
• Maintain accurate standard costs in SAP and validate engineering change impacts.
• Advise on plant cost-saving initiatives, Should Cost processes, and expense-versus-capital decisions under GAAP and corporate guidelines.
• Maintain audit readiness, internal controls, segregation of duties, and accurate inventory valuation with appropriate obsolescence reserves.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of overall work experience in a manufacturing cost accounting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Knowledge of standard cost valuation and cost accounting in an ERP environment; SAP preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• English required; the role involves onsite work, frequent movement across a large manufacturing floor, computer-based work, public speaking, and continuous listening.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance.
• CPA certification.
