Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: London, UK; in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Robinhood builds financial products designed to democratize finance and is developing institutional finance infrastructure through its Prime team.

What you will do

• Lead the design and end-to-end delivery of features across Prime backend services, frontend interfaces, and backoffice tooling.
• Build systems for settlement, on-exchange credit, lending, and tokenized securities.
• Own institutional client and operations journeys, including onboarding, account configuration, reporting, and business-critical tooling.
• Define failure states, invariants, tests, and recovery paths for correctness-critical financial workflows.
• Mentor engineers, provide design-focused code reviews, and lead work through high-ambiguity problems.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support business needs.

Requirements

• Experience independently delivering and operating complex, high-ambiguity projects with long-term impact.
• Strong full-stack production experience with a modern backend, primarily Python/Django and Go, and component-based frontend development with Vue.
• Hands-on experience building financial systems such as balances, ledgers, risk engines, settlement, onboarding/KYC, or payments.
• Strong design judgment, including identifying failure paths, defining invariants, and implementing enforcing constraints, tests, or alerts.
• Excellent communication, cross-team alignment, design-level code review, and engineering mentorship skills.
• Ability to attend the London office at least 3 days per week.
