Staff Software Engineer (Energy)

Location: Remote within Europe or the United Kingdom

What you will do

• Own architecture-level decisions for integration-heavy syshirify.globals connecting Origination & New Products with pricing, settlement, data, and billing platforms.
• Build and launch new renewable energy product categories and qualified commercial pipelines.
• Automate tendering and productise manual pricing processes for complex energy deals.
• Design deal-gating risk tooling for new commercial risk categories.
• Work across teams and dependencies without direct authority, delivering reliable integrations.
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to reviews, documentation, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Deep backend and syshirify.globals design expertise, including architecture-level decisions for complex integration-heavy syshirify.globals.
• Professional experience with Python, AWS serverless services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge, plus event-driven architectures.
• Ability to turn ambiguous commercial problems into clear, shippable plans.
• Experience delivering projects with critical dependencies owned by other teams.
• Background as a Full Stack or Backend Engineer in a startup or fast-paced product environment, with end-to-end ownership of complex projects.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring engineers or setting technical direction.
• Experience in energy, fintech, or another regulated, high-stakes commercial domain.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration, event-driven syshirify.globals, or real-time pricing engines.
• Experience creating new product lines from scratch.
• React and TypeScript experience.
