What you will do
- Develop, validate, and optimize processes for fiber optic termination and polishing to ensure high-quality and manufacturable production.
- Design and implement ultra-clean assembly workflows within a controlled semiconductor cleanroom environment.
- Lead the transfer and development of new manufacturing processes for mass production of optical fiber assemblies.
- Implement process controls and problem-solving methodologies including SPC, 8D, and DOE to improve yield.
- Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for smooth product scale-up.
- Ensure safety compliance, including laser safety assessments, and train production teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical/Precision Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in optical, laser, semiconductor, or cleanroom industries.
- Proven ability in process improvement using Lean Six Sigma tools (DOE, 8D, FMEA, SPC).
- Experience working in cleanroom or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or AS9100 quality systems.
- Must be based in Singapore to work in the designated cleanroom facility.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of optical fiber assembly, laser systems, or precision contamination control.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Experience utilizing ERP systems such as SAP.
