EDA Tools Engineer

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with regular on-site and off-site work

What you will do

• Design, implement, and verify hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies.
• Support technology-node enablement and TFM activities for EDA tools.
• Create hardware designs, assemble design platforms, and integrate components into hierarchical systems for end-to-end tool testing.
• Develop and analyze automation tools, platforms, databases, scripts, and tool flows for power, performance, and efficiency optimization.
• Apply expertise in digital design, verification, physical layout, full-chip integration, clocking, timing, and PPA analysis.
• Collaborate with EDA vendors and stakeholders to test and adopt next-generation hardware design tools while debugging complex technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 2+ years with a Master's degree.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, or TCL for automation.
• Foundational knowledge of hardware design infrastructure, digital design, physical design, verification, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of synthesis and APR flows, semiconductor vendor tools, and related methodologies is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are preferred.
