What you will do

• Manage daily accounting, including cash disbursements, receipts, and recurring journal-entry cycles in QuickBooks Online.
• Oversee vendor and contractor payment workflows, including onboarding and tax-form collection.
• Track and report on restricted and unrestricted fund balances to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Coordinate annual audits, including document compilation and managing relationships with external CPA firms.
• Operate and improve AI-assisted finance automations to streamline reporting and expense management.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts to support organizational decision-making.

Requirements

• Professional level English proficiency required
• Must be able to overlap at least 4 hours with PST (UTC-8)
• 2+ years (Specialist) or 3+ years (Manager) of experience in finance operations, ideally in non-profits or high-growth startups.
• Strong understanding of GAAP compliance and multi-entity accounting.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate with high agency in a remote environment.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting or preparing for a non-profit audit and Form 990.
• Experience implementing or migrating accounting platforms.
