PEP, Technical Production Manager

Location: Washington, DC, United States; onsite work expected

What you will do

• Oversee studio and control room production operations during assigned freelance shifts.
• Coordinate with scheduling teams on crew assignments and production coverage.
• Work with news desks, bookers, transmission teams, and production partners on live remotes and daily programming.
• Support facilities, IT, maintenance, and technical operations for assigned studios and control rooms.
• Manage breaking news, unplanned events, and live production changes.
• Maintain operational, health and safety, standards and practices, and production protocols.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in live studio television production.
• 2+ years of experience in a news environment.
• 2+ years of engineering support or operational experience in a broadcast studio or production control room.
• Strong knowledge of control room and studio systems, live broadcast workflows, field and remote production, satellite and telecommunications, and communications equipment.
• Proficiency with Apple systems, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work in Washington, DC, travel on short notice, and cover days, overnights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and short-notice assignments.

• Experience managing multiple priorities under pressure, working within budgets, and improving operational efficiency.
• Experience serving as a change agent in fast-moving production environments.
