Associate Producer, Dateline (Contract)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid work requires contributing from the office four days per week.

Salary: $65,000–$80,000 per year

Global media and entertainment company producing and distributing film, television, streaming, news, sports, and other entertainment content through brands including NBC News and Peacock.

What you will do

• Contribute to original long-form content, including story development and editorial research.
• Conduct pre-interviews and on-camera interviews.
• Participate in shooting, fact-checking, and editing.
• Produce short web extras under the direction of the Senior Producer.
• Coordinate with technical and operations staff and external production resources.
• Travel for bookings, productions, and trials.

Requirements

• Journalism background and at least three years of editorial production experience for a network or cable operation.
• Proficiency in Outlook and iNews.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be willing to work in New York and contribute from the office four days per week.
• Willingness to travel, work overtime, and work weekends with short notice.
• Ability to provide a reel or portfolio of work examples.

Nice to have

• Shooting experience, including breaking news and documentary-style B-roll.
• Video editing familiarity.
• Strong journalistic writing, research, editorial judgment, and knowledge of current events.
• Strong interpersonal, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
