Staff Software Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Remote - United States

Salary: $185,000–$245,000 USD per year, depending on geographic location, knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Build and deliver solutions that improve cloud services, infrastructure, and engineering tools in collaboration with product and platform teams.
• Solve infrastructure problems using software-driven, cloud-first approaches focused on quality, testability, and repeatability.
• Implement product roadmaps and objectives with engineering teams, emphasizing service delivery and reliability.
• Develop engineering best practices and standards for highly available distributed systems.
• Identify and reduce operational toil through innovation and automation.
• Participate in stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.

Requirements

• Experience developing with JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript in Linux or Mac environments.
• Experience building and deploying infrastructure in public cloud environments using software development practices and Terraform.
• Specific expertise scaling compute in Azure.
• Experience with large-scale, highly available distributed systems and SaaS platforms.
• Strong understanding of software development and API-driven solutions for managing and abstracting low-level infrastructure details.
• Experience scaling and deploying Linux-based systems, with the autonomy to work cross-functionally in a distributed engineering organization.
