Engineering Manager (SaaS)

Location: Must be based in the USA (specifically CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA). Not eligible for hire within Chicago city limits.

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 per year (for roles in CA, CO, NJ, WA, and NY).

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and expertise for full-stack software development teams.
• Lead and mentor distributed teams of UI and server-side developers.
• Collaborate with product owners and project managers to define requirements and project vision.
• Identify and implement improvements in engineering operations and development best practices.
• Ensure alignment across technical teams including UI, Mobile, Server, and Agent components.
• Conduct code reviews and oversee integration and deployment processes.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA in one of the specified states (CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, WA).
• 10+ years of cumulative software development experience in distributed client-server architectures.
• 3+ years of direct software engineering management experience.
• Expertise in software design, CI/CD, modern web UI, caching, and key-value database systems.
• No visa sponsorship available.
• Ability to lead and support a remote team effectively.

Nice to have

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, or Postgres.
• Experience with large-scale datastore bottlenecks and asynchronous application design.
