What you will do

• Investigate complex, high-risk cases and anomalies that require deep-dive analysis beyond standard procedures.
• Evaluate risk signals to authorize or deny money movement with data-backed rationales.
• Quantify potential financial impact and perform cost-benefit analysis for mitigation strategies.
• Use SQL and spreadsheet modeling to analyze large datasets and validate fraud trend hypotheses.
• Conduct root cause analysis to influence process changes and close security gaps.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Policy teams to implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in fraud/financial risk analysis, forensic investigations, or risk management within fintech or banking.
• Intermediate SQL proficiency with the ability to independently extract and analyze data.
• Strong critical thinking skills to navigate ambiguity and connect disparate data points.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
• Ability to work extended hours and/or holidays during peak fraud analysis periods.
• Must be able to travel domestically approximately 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience in payment fraud or SMB lending/credit risk.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or Criminal Justice.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools.
