What you will do

  • Own end-to-end preparation, review, and filing of complex multi-jurisdiction sales and use tax returns.
  • Serve as the primary compliance contact for accounting firm clients, handling advanced escalations.
  • Analyze transactional data to identify discrepancies and filing risks before submission.
  • Design and improve automated workflows for data ingestion, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to provide feedback on compliance features.
  • Mentor junior analysts on complex jurisdictions and AI-enabled best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
  • 7+ years of multi-jurisdiction indirect tax experience with a focus on US sales and use tax.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience analyzing large, complex datasets.
  • Proven experience working across multiple systems like AvaTax, ERPs, and API extractors.
  • Demonstrated application of AI tools in a professional context to improve efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-volume deadlines.
