Microsoft 365 Engineer (Purview/DLP)

Location: Houston, Texas; at least four full days per week working in an hirify.global office

What you will do

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID.
• Configure, implement, tune, and maintain Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policies across Microsoft 365 services and supported endpoints.
• Manage information protection capabilities such as sensitivity labels, data classification, retention, audit, compliance reporting, and role-based administration.
• Monitor alerts, incidents, policy matches, dashboards, and reports; investigate trends, reduce false positives, and resolve policy and service issues.
• Translate regulatory, legal, risk, and records-management requirements into Microsoft 365 and Purview controls.
• Maintain operational procedures, service health checks, recovery processes, documentation, standards, and user guidance.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in Microsoft 365 engineering or administration, including security, compliance, or collaboration services.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 architecture, Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention, information protection, and compliance operations.
• Experience with DLP policies, sensitive information types, policy tips, alerts, incident management, and reporting.
• Knowledge of Exchange Online administration, mail flow, Entra ID/Azure AD, conditional access, Microsoft Intune, MDM/MAM, and endpoint data protection.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across technical levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; relevant Microsoft certifications such as MS-500, SC-400, or MS-102 are preferred or may be in progress.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another regulated environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio and the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse governance.
