Lead Modern Workplace Engineer (Microsoft 365)

Location: New York, United States

Annual base salary: $225,000–$325,000, plus a year-end bonus and benefits.

hirify.global is hiring a lead-level engineer for its End User Computing team, which operates the firm’s end-user technology platforms, devices, and services.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, configuration governance, roadmap, lifecycle, and escalation-level troubleshooting of SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive.
• Design access and data controls across Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Purview, including Conditional Access and compliance policies.
• Build PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation for policy deployment, configuration consistency, proactive remediation, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor Microsoft ecosystem best practices and translate them into enterprise security, tenant governance, and collaboration lifecycle standards.
• Lead complex, multi-team projects from scope definition through production delivery while coordinating dependencies and owning outcomes.
• Support AI and Copilot enablement, enterprise mobility, Microsoft Graph integrations, and complex technical escalations for service desk and operations teams.

Requirements

• At least eight years of engineering experience in end-user computing, with hands-on experience building and operating production solutions.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, modern authentication, and Microsoft ecosystem best practices.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and the ability to automate Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 services.
• Experience owning solution design and delivery end to end, independently leading complex projects, and serving as a senior escalation point.
• A technical degree is preferred; strong communication, customer-service, and cross-department collaboration skills are required.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Purview experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Workspace ONE for mobile device management.
• Windows endpoint engineering, SCCM, macOS management with Jamf, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Copilot and M365 AI enablement, or large-scale migrations and rollouts.
• Prior team lead or management experience, without direct reports in this role.
