Entry Level Civil Engineer

Location: Merritt Island, Florida, United States; hybrid work with a balance of office and home working

Salary: $72,000–$80,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses

What you will do

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to produce high-quality, code-compliant design documents within established schedules and budgets.
• Conduct site visits, review as-built documentation, codes, and regulations, and assess site conditions and project requirements.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, cost estimates, material take-offs, and permit applications.
• Design stormwater systems, utilities, roadways, pavement, site improvements, earthwork, and minor structures.
• Support environmental assessments, hazardous-material and biological-impact reviews, and requirements for surveys and investigations.
• Provide construction management and construction support for ongoing projects, including field investigations and site inspections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• FE certification required, with the ability to obtain PE certification within four years.
• Zero to one year of engineering experience; civil engineering internships and cooperative education experience are advantageous.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, adaptability, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Must be a US citizen for security clearance requirements and able to obtain clearance from the Defense Security Service and other federal government agencies; a valid unrestricted driver’s license is required.

Nice to have

• Shoreline or marine engineering experience.
• Construction management experience.
